   Dipped in a paradise location rich in vineyards, olive groves and cypress trees, overlooking Arno valley with Chianti hills majestically rising in the background, Villa Pelago is a perfect choice for a luxurious holiday vacation. Ideally located, it is only 28 km far from the city of Florence and 8 km from Abbey of Vallombrosa, with the Al Motorway highway a few km away leading to the major attractions such as Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca, Pisa and Arezzo and many others. The 5 km far town of Pontassieve, providing all different types of services, has rail connections to further reaching Rome, Bologna, Milan, Venice and others. Within a twenty minute drive, the world famous vineyards of Chianti Classico region as well as the wines of Rufina region can be reached. The owner himself produces wine. Nearby, an excellent bakery open on Sundays also is available for guests to experience a genuine Tuscan experience.

   Villa Pelago lies along the road between Pelago and Tosi, at an altitude of 450 meters. An ex-convent of the Vallombrosian monks, destined to be a farm complex and estate for the Abbey, hosting the General Abbot and other great visitors in their way to the Abbey, the building has undergone complex changes throughout the centuries and it is now a welcoming aristocratic private mansion meeting the highest claims of comfort.

   The 5000 square metres of grounds surrounding the villa include pergolas covered in vine, olive groves and a rich in fruits and vegetables garden, with fresh products being generously provided to the residents. The accommodation extends on 300 square metres on the top floor, as the owners of this villa, Alberto and Antonella, together with their lovely dog, Gita, discreetly live on the lower levels. However, there is a private secluded entrance at ground level, its layout guaranteeing complete privacy. By the entrance, a beautifully restored private chapel lies, that can be used for religious functions. Further on, a staircase leads to the guest accommodation. The four spacious well lit bedrooms sleeping eight persons enjoy panoramic vistas through the large windows gazing the surroundings and are tastefully furnished thoroughly. There are provided three large luxurious bathrooms with shower. The lovely dining room seats 12 people or more, opening up into a large beautiful terrace furnished with table, chairs and parasol, with stunning views over Arno valley, hills beyond and atop ancient hamlets. The well supplied kitchen/dining area is provided with hob, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and an ice maker. A wide cosy sitting room area with Satellite TV and an open fireplace, as well as a billiards room are available too. Outdoor, the oversized swimming pool of 10x20 m is equipped with sun loungers, tables, umbrellas. Nearby, the changing room has a shower/toilet and fridge. If your party is larger than 8, of maximum 12 people, on your demand, we will be able to get you an additional comfortable apartment.

The villa is rented on a weekly basis, from Saturday to Saturday.

Arrival to the villa is between 4 and 7 p.m., while departure is by 10 a.m. On arrival, guests will be awaited with a courtesy hamper of food and basic supplies.

The rental price includes: water, gas, electricity expenses; weekly cleaning and change of linen and towels for house and pool.

Heating during winter months is not included and is paid according to consumption. Wood for the fireplace is supplied freely during winter stays.

A deposit of 30 % is required to confirm booking. Payment should be made by wire bank transfer, cheques or credit card. For reservations made more that 3 months in advance the balance is due 45 days prior to arrival. For reservations made less than 3 months in advance we require the full prepayment. Cancellations made more than 45 days prior to arrival are subject to a cancellation fee of 30% of the total amount of the rental.
